eRAMP MERS ICE Migration Update #4
For the last few weeks eRAMP users have successfully completed their MERS ICE Data Center Testing. So far testing has gone well with every eRAMP user we’ve worked with successfully completing SFTP batch and XML Online Registration testing. Following MERS ICE Migration Info sheet has helped our users when testing eRAMP. Testing has been as easy as changing the IP Address for SFTP and changing the URL for XML Online Registration on the eRAMP Client Setup screen.
While testing has been really easy there are a few lessons we have learned. Here’s a few pointers we have uncovered:
- When testing XML Online registration use your current password. The same password you use every day if you register loans using the XML Online Registration system. Your XML password will not change going forward unless you would like to change it. You will use the same password on the new MERS ICE system after the migration in September. If you are not using XML, Why Not? It’s a great system. Read about it now.
- When testing SFTP batch transactions MERS ICE will issue you a new password. Keep this password handy even after testing. This will be your actual password for SFTP batch transactions after MERS migration.
- When testing eRAMP if you receive a communication failed error the reason we have found most often is due to your IP Address has not been whitelisted by MERS ICE. Contact your MERS ICE migration specialist and ask to have your IP Address whitelisted. How do you know your IP Address you might ask? Good question; have your IT department confirm your IP Address. If you do not have an IT person on staff there are ways to determine you IP Address. Try using Google. Type “Find my ip address” and Google will list your IP Address. This is not a perfect solution as in some cases your IP Address can change. This is however a good start. Alternate solution: we developed a version of eRAMP that displays the IP Address eRAMP is connecting through. If you would like to update your eRAMP software to include our new IP Address feature please submit a ticket through our Client Resource Center to request the update.
If you haven’t completed testing with MERS or if you haven’t started testing please start or complete your testing right away. The deadline from MERS is June 29th.
